
Kota Kinabalu: The Sabah Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) arrested enforcement officer on suspicion of soliciting and accepting a bribe of about RM2,000 in return for turning a blind eye to drug activities.
The source said that the male suspect, in his 40s, was arrested about 9am on Friday when he was asked to appear at the Sabah MACC office.
“He was arrested for accepting the bribe that was deposited into a bank account belonging to another individual in 2021,” said the source.
Meanwhile, Sabah MACC Director Datuk S Karunanithy when contacted confirmed the arrest and said the case is investigated under Section 17 (a) of the MACC Act 2009.
