SANDAKAN: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) on Friday arrested two people here for allegedly falsifying two important documents to obtain a school canteen contract.

The duo had used the forged documents and obtained a primary school canteen tender in Sandakan worth about RM30,000 for the period between 2020 and 2021.

The suspects, a self-employed man in his 40s and a woman in her 20s who is owner of a company, were detained after coming to MACC’s Sandakan branch office at 9.40am.

Sabah MACC Director Datuk S. Karunanithy, who confirmed the arrest, said the case is being investigated under Section 471 and 109 of the Penal Code.

Karunanithy said the suspects would be brought to the Sandakan Special Corruption Court soon.
