KUALA LUMPUR – The Magistrates’ Court today issued arrest warrants for two sons of former finance minister the late Tun Daim Zainuddin after they failed to comply with notices from the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) requiring them to appear in court to face charges.

The order was issued by Magistrate Illi Marisqa Khalizan after allowing Deputy Public Prosecutor Mahadi Abdul Jumaat’s application for warrants against Muhammed Amir Zainuddin, 31, and Muhammed Amin Zainuddin, 28.

The court also issued an arrest warrant for businesswoman Josephine Premla.

According to Illi, all three were aware of the MACC notices but still failed to appear.

“I believe the named individuals had knowledge of the notices issued by the MACC, but they still failed to present themselves. The prosecution’s application has merit, and therefore the arrest warrants are issued.”

Yesterday, the MACC said in a statement that it would take firm action, including activating a Red Notice, against Tun Daim’s two sons after they failed to appear to give statements as ordered under three Orders to Attend Examination dated February 13, March 11 and April 6, 2026.

Josephine also failed to appear without a satisfactory reason despite having been directed by the MACC to do so.

Earlier today, another child of the late Daim, Asnida, 65, was charged in the Sessions Court with failing to declare shareholdings in five companies in 2023.

Asnida pleaded not guilty after the charge was read before Judge Rosli Ahmad.

According to the charge, she was accused of intentionally submitting a written sworn statement that did not comply with the terms of a notice issued under Section 36(1)(b) of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission Act 2009 [Act 694], dated November 8, 2023.

The notice was served on Asnida by a MACC officer holding the rank of commissioner or above on November 14, 2023. She was alleged to have failed to declare the specified shareholdings.

The undeclared interests involved five companies: Amiraz Sdn Bhd, Arida Farms Sdn Bhd, Kangkung Catering Sdn Bhd, Transgrade Sdn Bhd and Gajah3 Foods Sdn Bhd. - April 7, 2026
