MACC: No weapon was pointed at businessman Albert Tei

THE Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) today refuted claims that its officers pointed a weapon at the head of businessman Albert Tei during his arrest.

“The arrest carried out by MACC officers at the businessman’s residence today was conducted in accordance with established procedures.

“A police report has been lodged today to enable the relevant authorities to investigate the slander made against the MACC officers involved,” said its Chief Commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki.

The police report is also to ensure that no parties disseminate any unverified information, possibly with the intention of disrupting the investigation currently being undertaken by MACC.

Tei's wife had earlier alleged that MACC officers had pointed a gun at her husband before arresting him.

She claimed that officers had barged into their home and instructed her husband to lie on the floor while pointed a gun at him from a distance. - November 28, 2025
