THE Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) remanded six individuals including a company director, chief financial officer (CFO) and two police officers in Op C4i.
They are suspected of being involved in false claims worth approximately RM15 million for the Procurement of a Command & Control, Communication & Computer Integration System Maintenance Service Contract (C41).
The seven-day remand order until April 30, 2025 was issued by Magistrate Muhammad Fadzlan Mohd Noor after an application was made by MACC at the Putrajaya Magistrate's Court this morning.
According to sources, the suspects, consisting of five men and a woman aged between 30 and 50, were arrested at around 8pm yesterday when they appeared to give statements at the MACC Putrajaya Headquarters.
“Initial investigations found that all suspects are believed to have committed the act between 2022 and 2025 by abetting the submission of false claims worth approximately RM15 million where some of the component work in the support service was not carried out as required by the contract.
“The total value of the C4i project is estimated to be worth approximately RM70 million which was given to the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) and managed by the Ministry of Home Affairs (KDN),” he said.
According to another source, searches were carried out at 15 locations including the KDN and several companies around Johor, Selangor, Putrajaya and Kuala Lumpur.
Following that, MACC seized four luxury vehicles worth approximately RM1.3 million in addition to freezing 51 bank accounts involving 30 individual accounts and 21 business accounts belonging to 10 companies, which are worth a total of approximately RM3.5 million.
“Through this operation carried out in collaboration with PDRM, MACC also seized cash of approximately RM9,000, USD 388, RIYAL 2,340, QAR 1,789, DIRHAM 15,055 and KZT 21,219, and nine mobile phones.
Meanwhile, MACC Special Operations Division Senior Director, Datuk Mohamad Zamri Zainul Abidin when contacted confirmed the arrest and said that the case is being investigated under Section 18 of the MACC Act 2009. The case is also being investigated under Section 4(1) of the AMLA. – April 24, 2025
