The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) remains steadfast in its commitment to uncovering corruption, even in high-profile cases like the Littoral Combat Ships (LCS) and the Scorpene submarine purchases.

Chief Commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki affirmed that investigations into these matters are ongoing, dispelling any rumors suggesting otherwise.

Azam reiterated MACC's dedication to the LCS case, emphasizing ongoing efforts to gather crucial information from relevant parties, both domestically and internationally. Despite the complexity of the investigation, including the tracing of funds, MACC remains undeterred in its pursuit of justice.

Moreover, Azam assured the public that MACC's focus is solely on addressing abuses of power and malpractice surrounding the LCS project, avoiding interference in administrative matters related to the government's implementation of the project.

Regarding the Scorpene submarine purchase, Azam provided reassurance that investigations are progressing, with positive responses from foreign entities providing requested documents and evidence. Once completed, MACC will transparently announce its findings, ensuring accountability.

In a separate development, Azam confirmed that former Prime Minister Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad is among those under investigation for alleged violations of asset declaration laws. This underscores MACC's impartiality in pursuing corruption allegations regardless of individuals' stature or political affiliations.

Additionally, MACC's proactive measures extend to combating corruption within law enforcement agencies, as evidenced by notices issued to senior police officers suspected of colluding with criminal syndicates.

In light of the upcoming Kuala Kubu Baharu by-election, MACC remains vigilant, activating state operations rooms to monitor election proceedings and prevent any corrupt practices.

However, Azam clarified that MACC's involvement in certain issues, such as those within the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM), depends on the nature of the allegations. While MACC initiated an investigation into allegations against FAM, internal administrative matters may not warrant external intervention.

The ongoing dedication of MACC to upholding integrity and combating corruption in various sectors underscores its crucial role in preserving transparency and accountability within Malaysia's governance framework. As investigations continue, MACC's unwavering commitment to justice remains paramount.
