THE Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has seized immovable assets valued at more than RM18.3 million in connection with investigations into the alleged misappropriation of RM230 million involving a non-governmental organisation (NGO), in one of its latest major enforcement actions.
Sources confirmed that the seizure involved 14 properties comprising seven residential units, three office spaces and four parcels of land located across multiple sites.
Berita Harian cited the source saying that MACC officers from Selangor carried out the seizure during a series of coordinated raids conducted on Thursday.
“Based on current market value, the total value of the seizure is estimated at RM18.36 million.”
In addition to the property seizures, MACC said it has also confiscated 18 vehicles, including luxury models from eight different brands, with the most expensive being a Range Rover valued at RM1.2 million.
The commission said the vehicle seizures form part of a wider asset recovery effort linked to the ongoing probe.
The latest action follows earlier developments in Op Sutra, where MACC confirmed that total asset recoveries involving three individuals, including a deputy chairman of an NGO, had reached RM8.73 million.
The investigation centres on alleged misuse of donated funds amounting to RM230 million, with authorities expanding efforts to trace and recover assets believed to be linked to the case.
MACC said investigations remain ongoing as it continues to identify additional assets and individuals connected to the suspected financial misconduct. - April 23, 2026
