Kota Kinabalu: Machelne FC won the N45 Sook Adun Cup in the Men’s Open Nine-a-Side Football Tournament held at Kampung Delayan Lama field on Sunday.
In second place were Delayan Lama FC followed by Masusun FC and Karamatoi FC in third and fourth place respectively.
Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Ellron Angin, who presented the winning prizes at the closing ceremony, said the tournament served as an important platform to unearth raw talents.
He hopes the tournament will be held much earlier next year to avoid clashing with the Hari Raya and Kaamatan celebration so that more teams can take part.
