THE MADANI government led by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has demonstrated sustained political stability over the past three years, bolstering public confidence in the nation’s leadership, according to senior Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) figures in Kedah.

PKR’s Kedah State Leadership Council chairman Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said the federal administration under the MADANI government had proven its ability to maintain political steadiness, supported by encouraging economic indicators.

He contrasted the current period with recent history, noting that Malaysia had only one Prime Minister in three years, compared with three changes of leadership in the preceding five-year span.

“We are not strong because our opponents’ households are in disarray — that is their concern — but we are strong when we build our own strength,” he said during a PKR state council dialogue with the media in Sungai Petani last night.

Saifuddin, who also serves as Minister of Home Affairs, highlighted the party’s current challenge: communicating the government’s achievements clearly and effectively so that citizens can appreciate the tangible benefits of continuity in administration.

He added that, as the opposition in Kedah, PKR aims not only to provide checks and balances through constructive criticism but also to offer alternatives at the state level.

“The people can observe the performance of the Federal Government and its impact on the citizens of this state,” he said.

Meanwhile, Youth and Sports Minister Dr Mohammed Taufiq Johari emphasised the need for political parties to understand the fluid nature of young voter support, particularly in the run-up to elections.

“Young people are capable of making bold choices. Issues that are not addressed effectively can create waves that shift youth support quickly,” he said.

Dr Taufiq stressed the importance of ensuring that young voters grasp the democratic process and governance principles, so their decisions are guided not merely by party allegiance but by the performance and credibility of leaders.

The statements underline PKR’s efforts to consolidate public trust while engaging youth voters and reinforcing the perceived stability of the MADANI government at both federal and state levels. - February 22, 2026
