ALOR STAR – Festive open houses held by the federal unity government are not political tools and everyone regardless of their race, religion, or ideology are welcomed, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
He also said that Kedah, although ruled by opposition bloc Perikatan Nasional, is a priority state for the federal government.
“Kedah received a high allocation of RM1.6 billion for 2023, not including other aid such as for repairs of dilapidated schools, clinics, and water supply projects.
“The federal government will ensure that hardcore poverty in Kedah is dealt with properly, eradicated with the cooperation of the state government.”
In his speech, the prime minister also assured he would help expedite investments in Kulim Hi-Tech Park to drive economic growth in Kedah.
Thousands of people arrived for the open house at Hotel Raia here which started at 10am and was scheduled to end by 2pm.
Despite criticism by the Kedah menteri besar over these events, Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor was seen happily accompanying Sultan of Kedah Sultan Sallehuddin Sultan Badlishah at the open house here.
Sanusi was also seen taking photos with other federal ministers – Communications and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzil and Local Government Development Minister Nga Kor Ming – at the event. – The Vibes, April 29, 2023
