LAHAD DATU: The electricity supply in Sabah’s Southeast Zone shows favourable performance with a double-digit record in the System Average Interruption Duration Index (Saidi).

Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd (SESB) Chairman, Datuk Seri Wilfred Madius Tangau, said the southeast zone consists of Lahad Datu, Kinabatangan and Kunak and shows significant reduction of disruptions within three years. Madius said Lahad Datu recorded Saidi of 42.77 minutes per customer per year for 2024 compared to 106.77 in 2022 and 104.51 in 2023.

“Even in some areas such as Palm Oil Industrial Cluster (POIC) recorded a single digit Saidi which is under 10 minutes per customer per year,” he said.

Madius said this in a press release following his working visit to SESB in Sabah Southeast and south zones.
