SERDANG, Sept 2 - The Malaysia Agriculture, Horticulture and Agrotourism Show (MAHA) has attracted 1.87 million visitors and recorded almost RM12 million in sales as of yesterday, said Agriculture and Food Security Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu.
He said the figure is set to rise further in the final days of MAHA, driven by business-matching sessions and large-scale sales.
“Turnout has been very satisfactory so far. We are aware there are still some issues and shortcomings, but we are doing what we can to help,” he said after launching the Fishermen Database System (PADAN) in conjunction with MAHA here today.
Commenting on the allegations over buggy rental charges that went viral on social media, Mohamad said the service was offered to corporate clients and was not part of public transport services provided by the organisers.
“The buggies are rented by corporate companies that do not want to share them with others. For the general public, the services are mostly free, and we provide trams and buses for visitors to get around MAHA 2026,” he said.
MAHA is being held until Sunday at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS), featuring about 2,000 exhibitors and targeting more than four million visitors.
The biennial event is also targeting at least RM8 billion in potential investments through the signing of memorandums of understanding and agreement, as well as RM58 million in direct sales.
