Cabinet Minister Anil Vij announced that a 12.5-ft statue of Maharana Pratap will be unveiled on his birth anniversary on May 9 at Sadar Bazaar in Ambala Cantonment.
Vij said he had released a grant of Rs 50 lakh from his discretionary fund to the Ambala Sadar Municipal Council for the installation of the statue, which was put in place on Wednesday.
He described Maharana Pratap as an enduring symbol of India’s pride and a figure deeply devoted to patriotism.
Meanwhile, the minister inspected the installation site at Sadar Chowk and held discussions with municipal officials regarding the pedestal and overall setup of the statue.
He directed officials to ensure proper lighting arrangements around the statue so that it remains visually appealing during the night. The statue has been crafted by renowned Jaipur-based sculptor Mahavir Bharti.
Executive Officer of the Municipal Council, Davender Narwal, briefed the minister about the statue and the ongoing work at the site.
