MAHB invites local companies to participate in national airport development projects

Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad is calling on more local companies to participate in airport development and upgrading projects nationwide - July 26, 2026

The move is as part of its transformation agenda focused on improving services, expanding capacity and driving sustainable growth

MALAYSIA Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB) is encouraging more local companies to participate in airport development and upgrading projects across the country, in line with its transformation agenda centred on service improvements, capacity expansion and long-term growth.

MAHB chief procurement officer Sr Azita Mohamed Tahir said the opportunities available extend beyond construction, covering areas such as information and communications technology (ICT), facilities management, retail, maintenance and support services.

She said the initiative was being continued following strong response to last year’s Vendor Roadshow, which attracted around 800 new vendors from across the country.

"This year, we are introducing the Procurement and Project Showcase to provide vendors with a more comprehensive understanding of projects that are currently being implemented and those planned by Malaysia Airports.

"Airports are not merely terminals seen by passengers. Behind them are various operations that require collaboration with implementation partners from different fields," she said during an interview on the Selamat Pagi Malaysia programme.

Azita said among the key projects currently underway was the expansion of Penang International Airport, while development projects in Sabah and Sarawak would be announced through a series of Procurement and Project Roadshows beginning next month.

She said airport development involved not only physical construction but also improvements to ICT systems, facilities management and overall passenger experience.

MAHB is also prioritising participation from local suppliers, with preference given to Malaysian companies that meet the registration requirements based on project needs.

Interested vendors can obtain further information and register through MAHB’s Vendor Management System (VMS) on the company’s official website. - July 26, 2026
