KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 4 — Police today confirmed receiving a report in relation to allegations by an Indonesian domestic helper that she was abused by her employer, a former politician.
Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said the 54-year-old maid lodged the report against the suspect, who is also a businessman, at the Ampang Jaya district police headquarters at 4.16pm on August 22.
“An investigation paper was opened under Section 324 of the Penal Code for assault using a weapon,” he said in a statement today.
He said the case has been referred to the Deputy Public Prosecutor. — Bernama
