Mainz striker Marcus Ingvartsen admits Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo is a role model.

Ingvartsen has moved into Mainz's attack after being primarily a midfielder.

He told Bold: "Cristiano Ronaldo is a great role model for me. It is interesting to follow how he has trained and built up his incredible physique. You have to take your hat off when you consider that he is already 37 years old. It's incredible.

"I remember when he came to Manchester United and hired his own physiotherapist. Ronaldo tried a lot of new things back then that a lot of other big stars at Manchester United didn't.

"He was undoubtedly a pioneer when it came to things like exercise and nutrition. Ronaldo is a player who inspires me."
