  • Kanye West, also known as Ye, is scheduled to headline Wireless Festival in north London, marking his first UK performance in over a decade.
  • Jewish leaders, including Rabbi Herschel Gluck and the Jewish Leadership Council, have called on Wireless Festival to reconsider West's performance due to his history of antisemitic statements and actions.
  • Mayor of London Sadiq Khan has also condemned West's past comments as “offensive and wrong”, stating they do not reflect London's values.
  • Critics highlight West's past behaviour, which includes describing himself as a Nazi, selling swastika T-shirts, and making repeated antisemitic remarks, despite issuing apologies.
  • The controversy comes amidst heightened antisemitic tension in the UK, with the Community Security Trust recording 3,700 instances of anti-Jewish hate in 2025, the second-highest annual total.
