Kota Kinabalu: The Federal Government’s increased focus on spearheading the modernisation of the country’s agriculture sector is a major step toward enhancing local food production, said Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Security (KPKM), said Chan Foong Hin.
He pointed the revamped 2023 Budget set out to expand automation and digitalisation throughout the sector through allocations such as the RM1 billion fund under the Agrofood Financing Scheme headed by MDEC to help agrofood producers and smallholders to utilise cutting edge technology based on the fourth Industrial Revolution (IR4.0) such as Internet of Things (IOT), and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to enhance efficiency and productivity.
