Majority of Usno leaders reject exit from GRS

Kota Kinabalu: A majority of Usno supreme council members have rejected party president Tan Sri Pandikar Amin Mulia’s decision to withdraw from GRS, saying it was made unilaterally and did not reflect the party’s collective stand.

Usno deputy president Datuk Ibrahim Linggam (pic) said the decision was made personally by Pandikar without proper consultation with the Supreme Council, division leaders or the party’s top leadership.

He said the majority of deputy presidents, vice presidents and Supreme Council members opposed the move and wanted the party to remain in GRS and continue supporting the State Government under Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.

Ibrahim said 19 out of 26 division chiefs supported staying in GRS, adding the matter was not properly discussed, and no formal voting or sufficient majority was obtained during the April 22 meeting.

He said a Supreme Council meeting had been called for May 6 to discuss leadership and disciplinary matters, while stressing that any action must follow the party constitution and not be carried out arbitrarily.
