MANILA, Philippines — The Makati Business Club Executive Director, Rafael “Apa” Ongpin, has resigned, the MBC announced in a statement on Wednesday.

The business group thanked Ongpin for his service.

“His leadership supported MBC’s efforts in advancing its mission and strengthening engagement with members and partners on key business and economic issues”, the MBC said.

Ongpin will be on terminal leave, starting April 1. He will step down, effective April 30th.

In the meantime, Makati Business Club said Deputy Executive Director Michelle Dee will serve as officer-in-charge, while the Secretariat continues its regular work and scheduled programs.

“The Board of Trustees has begun transition planning to ensure continuity of leadership and operations. Further updates will be shared in due course”, the MBC stated.

Since January 2025, Ongpin served as the executive director of the Makati Business Club.

Ongpin worked in the media industry, then in corporate for the Transnational Diversified Group, ABS-CBN, PhilWeb Corporation, and Alphaland Corporation.
