LABUAN: Former Member of Parliament Datuk Rozman Isli (Warisan) while agreeing with MP Datuk Suhaili Abdul Rahman that the island should be returned to Sabah if Federal is not serious said a better option will be to turn into an autonomous Special Administrative Region (SAR).
This would enable to be included in the economic development plan, especially of Sabah.
He said without such a special status, Labuan would likely be left even more behind as could be seen from the present greater focus by Sabah on its Oil and Gas and other industries.
