PETALING JAYA: Staple foods producer Malayan Flour Mills Bhd (MFM), through a unit of its poultry integration arm, Dindings Poultry Development Centre Sdn Bhd (DPDC), signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Jiangsu Huali Co Ltd to establish a framework for both parties to negotiate and finalise the procurement of poultry-farming equipment for DPDC’s poultry farming expansion initiatives.
The collaboration covers equipment and complete technical solutions, training and knowledge transfer for DPDC’s technical and vocational education and training team, after-sales service and maintenance, and data and solutions for a computerised maintenance management system.
The MoU was signed by Malayan Flour Mills executive deputy chairman and managing director Teh Wee Chye on behalf of DPDC and Jiangsu Huali president of Asia-Pacific Howard Wang at the Malaysia Agriculture, Horticulture, and Agrotourism Show 2026 (Maha 2026).
The signing was witnessed by Agriculture and Food Security Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu.
Teh said as Malaysia works towards its target of 140% poultry-meat self-sufficiency level by 2030, the industry must increase production without compromising biosecurity and operational efficiency.
“By bringing together DPDC’s local farming experience and Jiangsu Huali’s digital and livestock-farming capabilities, we aim to make available for farms in Malaysia the solutions that can be adapted to local operating conditions and applied consistently for the poultry farming industry.
“Over time, this can contribute to a stronger and more technology-enabled domestic poultry industry,” he said.
The MoU serves as a guideline for the proposed collaboration. The timeline, commercial terms and binding agreements for individual activities will be negotiated and documented separately by both parties.
The MoU will remain in effect until Aug 31, 2027, unless extended by mutual agreement.
In conjunction with the signing, MFM is also showcasing a model of its Dindings Tyson Poultry House (DTPH) at Maha 2026.
DTPH showcases AI-driven closed-house technology as part of MFM’s efforts to modernise upstream breeding and broiler farming, while strengthening biosecurity and feed security.
Compared with conventional open-house farming, closed-house systems provide a more controlled farming environment, supporting more efficient management of feed and other inputs, as well as better productivity and more consistent production.
“DTPH provides a practical example of how modern closed-house farming can be applied at farm level.
“Through this showcase, we hope to encourage wider industry adoption and support the transition from conventional open-house systems towards more technology-based farming.
“Such modernisation is important in building a productive and dependable domestic poultry industry,” Teh said.
