PETALING JAYA: A Malaysia Airlines flight experienced a sudden cabin pressure issue during a flight from Kuala Lumpur to Bintulu, Sarawak, yesterday.

Nobody was injured in the incident which left passengers terrified, Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) said.

The aircraft crew initiated an emergency descent to a lower altitude and deployed oxygen masks to passengers in line with standard safety procedures.

The Star reported that the airline had commenced an investigation into the incident that occurred mid-flight.

The Malaysia Airlines Flight MH2742 landed safely at Bintulu Airport at 10.31am without any further incident.

Malaysia Airlines apologised for disrupting passengers’ travel plans.

“The safety and well-being of our customers and crew remain our highest priority, and we are conducting a thorough review to understand the cause and to prevent a recurrence,” it said in a press statement. - FMT
