Malaysia and China pledge to deepen diplomatic and security cooperation to ensure regional stability and prosperity in the face of global challenges.

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia and China have pledged to strengthen diplomatic relations and security cooperation to safeguard their shared social and economic prosperity.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the commitment was discussed during a courtesy call by China’s Minister of State Security Chen Yixin.

“Our discussions focused on bilateral relations, particularly security cooperation between our two countries,” Anwar posted on Facebook.

He said the talks also covered the current global geopolitical landscape, which calls for close collaboration to ensure regional stability and security.

The Prime Minister expressed hope that progress achieved jointly across various sectors would continue to drive closer ties.

He added that the presence of a senior Chinese government leader is highly valued by both himself and the entire MADANI Government.

Chen Yixin is on his first visit to Malaysia this year, described as a visit to a good-friend country.
