Kota Kinabalu: The Malaysia-China Chamber of Commerce (MCCC) Sabah launched a Platinum Club as part of its new initiative aimed at strengthening ties with its long-standing members.

The move reflects the Chamber’s effort to recognise senior contributors while facilitating intergenerational knowledge exchange.

Led by its Council Member Benny Hon, the Platinum Club will organise regular engagements, including bimonthly gatherings, to foster closer collaboration between veteran and newer members.

On Saturday the Chamber hosted an exclusive afternoon tea event at a local venue, attended by senior advisers, council members and new entrants.

The gathering served as a platform for mentorship discussions and networking.

In his address, Dexter credited former leaders, including Datuk Frankie Liew and Datuk Michael Chin, for their foundational contributions.

“Their guidance has been instrumental in shaping the Chamber’s direction,” said Dexter.

Meanwhile, Benny, the club’s coordinator, pointed out the initiative’s role in preserving institutional knowledge.

“We want younger members to learn from the experience of those who paved the way,” he said. The Platinum Club is expected to hold its next meeting in September, with further activities planned to enhance member engagement.
