MALAYSIA has strongly condemned continued attacks on United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon peacekeepers in southern Lebanon, warning that such incidents constitute serious violations of international law.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Malaysia said the latest incident, which occurred last Friday in El Addaiseh, left three Indonesian peacekeepers injured.
"This attack is a serious violation of international law, and those responsible must be held accountable," the ministry said.
Malaysia also urged all parties involved in the conflict to ensure the safety and security of United Nations personnel, stressing the inviolability of UN missions operating in conflict zones.
"Malaysia urges the United Nations Security Council to take firm action, including ensuring the immediate protection of UN peacekeepers in southern Lebanon," the statement added.
The condemnation follows a series of recent attacks on UNIFIL forces, including incidents on March 29 and 30 that resulted in the deaths of three Indonesian peacekeepers while on duty under the UN mission. - April 5, 2026
