The new BBC Earth Documentary, Mammals puts Malaysia in the spotlight
Presented by Sir David Attenborough, Mammals explores the most successful and most loved animal group ever. The BBC Earth documentary uncovers the secrets to their success in conquering the Earth with their winning design, incredible adaptability, unrivalled intelligence and unique sociability. Now it will also highlight Malaysia as well.
A New World
After the reign of the dinosaurs ended 66 million years ago, mammals found themselves free to exploit every corner of the planet and take advantage of every major environment. They are now found in every ocean, and on every continent, from frozen wildernesses, dense jungles, scorching deserts, even the dark depths of the open ocean and the skies above our forests.
A National Favourite
Making a cameo in this series is also a familiar sight across Malaysia, palm oil plantations. While these plantations may seem devoid of life, it actually harbours new and surprising opportunities for the resourceful pig-tailed macaque. This is yet another way Malaysia is gaining some recognition on the international stage.
