
Kota Kinabalu: The Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Malaysia, Bulat Sugurbayev, met with Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor to discuss bilateral trade relations at Menara Kinabalu, here, Thursday.
Hajiji welcomed the Central Asian country’s keenness to explore investment opportunities and establish trade relations with Sabah. Sugurbayev is on a two-day official visit to the State.
The Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (Matrade) data shows trade between Malaysia and Kazakhstan stood at RM480 million for the first 10 months of 2022 with exports to Kazakhstan valued at RM475 million and imports worth RM5 million.
Malaysia’s top five major exports to Kazakhstan comprised electrical and electronic (E&E), rubber products, agriculture produce, palm oil-based manufactured products and palm oil-based agriculture products.
