THE theme for Malaysia’s 2025 Independence Day and Malaysia Day celebrations will be ‘Malaysia MADANI: Rakyat Disantuni’ or ‘Malaysia MADANI: People Prioritised’ with the government continuing its use of the same official logo until 2027.
The announcement was made by Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil, who also chairs the main organising committee for the 2025 celebrations (HKHM2025), during his weekly media briefing.
The Malaysia MADANI concept, introduced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, highlights a holistic and balanced model of national development—combining material progress with spiritual growth, underpinned by economic advancement, administrative integrity, and social unity.
The addition of ‘Rakyat Disantuni’ (People Prioritised) to the theme underlines the government’s commitment to ensuring that the welfare of the rakyat remains at the heart of national policy and celebration.
The National Month will kick off with the official launch and Jalur Gemilang flag-raising ceremony on 27 July 2025 in Johor. This will be followed by the National Day Parade on 31 August in Putrajaya, and the Malaysia Day celebration on 16 September in Penang.
A wide range of patriotic activities are scheduled throughout the month to ignite national pride, including Quran Hour, Kira Detik Merdeka, 1Rumah 1Jalur Gemilang, Kembara Merdeka Jalur Gemilang, Pengisahan Kenegaraan @Kelab Malaysiaku, PENTARAMA Merdeka\@HOHO, Wayang Pacak Merdeka, and RIUH Merdeka.
To support the campaign, the official Merdeka360 portal ([https://www.merdeka360.my/web/](https://www.merdeka360.my/web/)) has been updated with a new ‘Event Calendar’ feature, offering a comprehensive list of HKHM2025 programmes and activities at national, ministerial, state, and district levels.
The site also provides detailed information and guidelines for the use of the official logo. - June 11, 2025
