Malaysia is grateful for the entry of Napali employees in the manufacturing, agricultural, and security sectors. They have make proven significant contributions to our economy. Apart from manpower, tourism, and education appear to be viable sectors contributing to the fast growth of both nations. In fact, P2P collaboration in NGO activities has developed especially, in humanitarian aid & relief activities.(my.nepaleembassy.gov.np)

Nepal is a magnificient nation with abundant natural beauty. I have visited Nepal in the early 2000s and found that the people through various NGOs promote itself on the basis of natural and cultural diversity especially, the structured humanitarian aid and relief efforts. I also learned Nepal is one of the world's most disaster-prone countries due to its location and climatic conditions. The threat of, fires, glacial lake, outburst floods, avalanches, cold and heat waves always looms large. This increases the burdens on the affected people.

Sejahtera Leadership Initiative (SLI) received good will visit from Nirmal Khatri, Director, Community Innovation Organisation (CIO) & Nepali Nari Community Living & Learning Centre, Simpani, Kavre, Nepal. He was in Malaysia from 03-16 April for a series of speaking engagements with NGOs, universities & schools. This is a reciprocal visit by COO Yazdi to Nepal for 2 weeks in various part of Nepal. Nirmal revealed that “Natural hazards cost lives and destroy homes and infrastructure each year and dispropotionally affect the most disadvantaged, vulverable & marginalised population groups. The European Union (EU) consistently supports disaster preparedness initiatives to proctect vulnerable populations in Nepal, and humanitarian emergency interventions in case of sudden disasters. My CIO team provides the local coordination supports to ensure the disbursements of funding being channelled to the proper beneficiaries.”

Nirmal added, “Due to the increased disaster risks posed by the climate crisis, EU humanitarian funding in Nepal focuses on initiatives that strengthenthe disaster preparedness of local institutions. Key priorities include strengthening the emergency response capacity.”
