PUTRAJAYA: Malaysia’s first BMW-i (Clean, Attractive, Fragrant and Smart) public toilet has been opened at Dataran Putra, next to Putra Mosque, to improve facilities for visitors and tourists.
Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming said in a Facebook post that the facility featured smart technology, including automatic taps, soap dispensers and toilet flushes, as well as sensors to monitor air quality and cleanliness.
He said the toilet also provided facilities for persons with disabilities (PWD) and was intended to improve public convenience, particularly during the Visit Malaysia Year campaign.
Nga urged members of the public to take care of the facility, stressing that maintaining cleanliness was a shared responsibility.
He said the Government could provide quality public facilities, but their upkeep also depended on the public’s attitude and cooperation.
