KUALA LUMPUR: More than 130 delegates attended The Conversation 2.0: The Founding Chapter, at Crowne Plaza Kuala Lumpur City Centre on Monday, marking Malaysia’s largest emcee conference and a step towards forming the Association of Professional Masters of Ceremonies Malaysia.
Organised by Jason Jonathan Omar, the event brought together emcees and industry stakeholders, including agencies, event organisers and government representatives, to strengthen professionalism, collaboration and national standards.
Discussions covered protocol, stagecraft, branding, multilingual hosting and industry challenges, alongside a forum on emcee pricing where 76 per cent of delegates supported a RM1,000 recommended starting benchmark for junior emcees (non-binding).
The proposed association would establish a national secretariat in Kuala Lumpur with regional chapters across Malaysia, aiming to improve training, recognition and coordination within the profession.
