KUALA LUMPUR, June 26 — Malaysia and Singapore are looking to strengthen regional cooperation to advance youth volunteerism and promote cross-border unity, said National Unity Minister Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang.

In a Facebook post today, he said the matter was discussed during his courtesy call on Singapore’s acting culture, community and youth minister David Neo.

“The discussion included a proposal to establish a volunteer exchange programme and develop a collaborative network between youth volunteer organisations from both countries,” he said.

Aaron also highlighted initiatives under the National Unity Ministry, including the role of Yayasan Sukarelawan Siswa, which implements Sukarelawan Siswa Madani Berkhidmat missions locally and abroad.

He said these efforts reflect Malaysia’s commitment to shaping resilient, united and globally minded youth.

Aaron is in Singapore at the invitation of the Culture, Community and Youth Ministry to attend the island republic’s Third International Conference on Cohesive Societies 2025, which began Tuesday.
