Malaysia vehemently denounces Israel's continued atrocities on Palestinians, particularly the bombings on the al-Mawasi refugee camp on July 13 that left hundreds of people injured and many innocent people dead, including women and children.

In a statement released on Sunday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, better known as Wisma Putra, said that the horrific and barbaric attack occurred in a location that Israel had declared a safe zone for the Palestinian people, demonstrating a callous indifference and disrespect for human life.

Additionally, it is against international law, international humanitarian law, and international human rights law.

"Malaysia remains firmly in support of the Palestinian people and strongly rejects the ongoing violence and atrocities committed by the Israeli regime," stated the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

According to Al-Jazeera, an Israeli strike in the al-Mawasi camp in southern Gaza has killed at least ninety-nine Palestinians. The incident has been widely condemned.

The attack was dubbed a "horrific massacre" by the displaced Palestinians taking refuge in the area, which Israel had declared a "safe zone." They added that the intensity of the strike had destroyed their tents and left victims and body parts scattered across the ground.

Following the Israeli attack, a video showing Palestinians excavating by hand to retrieve those buried in the sand was released by the nonprofit organization Medical Aid for Palestinians.

"I'm at a loss for words; the circumstances are terrible. We leave the hospital for a funeral every fifteen minutes, no exaggeration. This has persisted ever since the event. People are dying one by one, said Mohammed Aghaalkurdi, a volunteer at Nasser Hospital.

The al-Mawasi raid occurred a few days after Israel ordered the evacuation of the entire population of Gaza City and its environs, resulting in the deaths of several people. The Israeli strikes have "wiped out" the Shujayea neighborhood of Gaza City, according to witnesses who spoke with Al Jazeera.

Wisma Putra emphasized that the ongoing violence clearly violates United Nations Security Council Resolution 2735 (2024), which calls for an immediate end to hostilities, protection of the civilian population, and unhindered humanitarian access to Gaza, as reported by Malaysiakini.

It further urged the international community to take immediate and decisive action to end Israeli violence and demand that Israeli leaders be held accountable for the inhumane crimes.
