RANAU: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Community Education Division (PenMas) has strengthened its collaboration with Mara in promoting anti-corruption awareness among Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) students in Sabah.

The joint effort was carried out through the Kem Angkatan Mahasiswa Antirasuah (Kem Amar) for Mara institutions, held from Aug 22 to 24 at Damai Eco Ranch here, involving 81 students from Institut Kemahiran Mara (IKM) Kota Kinabalu.

MACC Community Education Division (PenMas) director Datuk Ahmad Nizam Ismail, who officiated the closing ceremony, said academic integrity must be upheld to produce competent and competitive graduates.

“Integrity in academics, authenticity in assignments and transparency in assessments — is a value that cannot be compromised,” he said.

He emphasised that MACC views academic integrity as “a long-term investment in producing future leaders free of corruption, abuse of power and mismanagement.”Sabah Mara Director Dr Shahrizin Abdul Sarhadat, who officiated the programme, welcomed the initiative and expressed hope the collaboration would continue.

“Strengthening integrity must be instilled in every student as an early foundation to build a strong moral compass,” he said.

Also present were Sabah MACC Director Datuk Mohd Fuad Bee Basrah, IKM Kota Kinabalu Director Abdul Munap Tahir and MRSM Ranau Principal Ismail Badri.
