Malaysians in Qatar urged to monitor developments, use verified sources and register with embassy for consular updates.

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Embassy in Doha has advised its citizens in Qatar to remain vigilant and stay informed on the latest regional developments.

This advisory follows recent reports of heightened tensions in the Middle East.

The embassy issued a statement urging Malaysians to obtain information only from verified official sources.

“Avoid spreading unverified information,” the statement posted on the embassy’s Facebook page said.

It specifically referenced announcements by Qatari authorities and the Malaysian Embassy itself as trusted sources.

This comes after Anadolu Ajansi reported that Israel’s defence minister confirmed a strike against Iran.

For consular assistance, Malaysians can contact the embassy via emergency phone or email.

The emergency contact is +974 3374 6733, while the email address is mwdoha@kln.gov.my.

The embassy also encouraged those not yet registered to do so through the e-Consular system.

Registration can be completed online at https://ekonsular.kin.gov.my/login.
