In the twisted tale of Malaysia's political and economic sagas, Al-Sultan Abdullah, the last Agong, played the unwitting referee, caught in the crossfire of conflicting narratives.

Tun M, PM7 had a knack for painting a picture of financial gloom, as if Malaysia's economy ran on IOUs and dreams. According to him, canceling projects was practically a national pastime.

Enter Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, PM8, the magician of fiscal abundance. With a flick of his political wand, funds appeared magically, like a hidden treasure chest discovered post-Mahathir.

It is almost as if the government's piggy bank had a secret compartment accessible only to those well-versed in political manoeuvres.

As Al-Sultan Abdullah diplomatically tiptoed through the minefield of contradictory tales, one can't help but imagine him sitting on the throne, thinking, "Do they even talk to each other?"

Perhaps a shared Excel sheet for budget updates would have spared His Highness the headache of deciphering financial fiction.

In the grand theatre of Malaysian politics, the scriptwriters seem to have a penchant for plot twists. Was it a case of financial amnesia, selective transparency, or just a national budget version of "he said, she said"?

We may never know, but one thing is clear: Malaysia's economic storylines are as convoluted as a daytime soap opera.

As we bid farewell to the Agong's unintentional role as a fiscal confidant, Malaysians are left wondering if the next leader will bring a sequel to this financial drama or opt for a more straightforward script.

Either way, in this theatre of the absurd, laughter might just be the best response to the tragicomic twists of Malaysia's political pantomime.
