A 30-year-old Malaysian man is missing following a landslide in Padang Panjang, West Sumatra, with search operations continuing

PUTRAJAYA: The Foreign Ministry has confirmed a Malaysian citizen is missing following a landslide in West Sumatra, Indonesia.

Thirty-year-old Asrul Nizam Apridwson disappeared during the November 27 incident in Padang Panjang.

Malaysia’s Consulate General in Medan is coordinating with Indonesian search and rescue authorities for updates.

The ministry advised Malaysians in West Sumatra to follow local authority instructions and avoid landslide-prone areas.

Particular caution is urged for the Padang-Bukittinggi route in Lembah Anai, which remains closed.

Malaysians in affected areas should register with the Consulate General for assistance and communication.
