In a statement on Monday (Jan 13), Asst Comm Raub said the driver of the car, which skidded due to the rain, lost control of the vehicle. The car collided with a road divider before crashing into a pedestrian, who was walking from Singapore to Malaysia.

The pedestrian sustained serious injuries and is currently receiving treatment at Sultanah Aminah Hospital (HSA).

The car's occupants, two Singaporean men aged 21 and 23, were also affected by the crash. The passenger suffered an injury to his left arm, while the driver escaped unhurt.
