
Kota Kinabalu: Malaysian shuttlers captured two titles in the just concluded Malaysia International Series held at the Federal Government Administration Complex Multipurpose Hall here over the weekend.
They took home the men’s doubles title through Wong Vin Sean and M Fazriq Mohd Razif after the pair defeated teammates Chia Weijie and Liew Xun 21-14, 21-16 in the final.
The other title came from the mixed doubles pair of Loo Bing Kun and Cheng Su Yin who lived up to their top billing by beating India’s Sathish Kumar Karunakaran/Aadya Variyath 21-18, 21-14 in the final.
The national team also had two singles, one mixed doubles and two three doubles finishing joint third in the six-day competition.

Read more The losing semi-finalists were Lim Ming Hong and Qi Ler Eng in the men’s and women’s singles respectively, Muhd Nuraidil Adha Azman and Muhd Nurfirdaus Azman in the men’s doubles, Owen Ting Shih Wee/Gan Jing Err in the mixed doubles, and Vannee Gobi/Clarissa San and Lee Zhi Qing/Desiree Hao Shan Siow in the women’s doubles.
Meanwhile, Indonesia took home two titles with Ikhsan Leonardo Imanuel Rumbay winning the men’s singles title after beating countryman Krishna Adi Nugraha 21-14, 21-18 in the final, and Isyana Syahira Meida/Rinjani Kwinara Nastine in the women’s doubles by beating Supamart Mingchua/Pattaraporn Rungruengpramong of Thailand 23-21, 21-15.
The women’s singles title went to Singapore’s Insyirah Khan following her 21-18, 21-18 victory over Taiwan’s Lee Yu Hsuh.
