Malaysia is a country known for its rich diversity in culture. With many races coming together and living with each other, it has truly become a melting pot. Just over 6 days ago, a Malaysian has shared an interesting way of celebrating his friend’s birthday, piquing the interest of netizens!

M’sian surprises friend by arranging for an Urumi drums ensemble for his birthday

According to TikTok user @atansharibun_, him and his friends have decided to surprise one of their friends by arranging for an Urumi drums ensemble. Speaking to Wau Post, the man shared that this was actually an idea that occurred to him long ago.

“I wanted to do something different this time round and just a few days before Hari Raya ended, we decided to plan this surprise for our friend”, she said.

Having many Indian friends, he then asked around and finally found a group that was suitable for their surprise. On the day itself, they actually had a gathering and after they were done with their meal, one of their friends pretended that they needed to purchase something from the store and asked for the birthday boy to accompany him out.

Getting back from the store, the ensemble was waiting for him, however his friend didn’t realise it was for him. Looking at his friends, he then asked,

“Is this for me? Is this really for me?”

Surprised that it was for him, he couldn’t help but smile at the gesture his friends planned for him. As the video was published, many netizens have commented on it, praising them for embracing other ethnicity’s culture. Here’s what some of them said:
