FOUR Malaysian students have achieved international recognition after winning two gold medals and securing second place in the primary school engineering category at the Bangkok Innovation Awards.
Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri R. Ramanan described the accomplishment as a source of national pride, highlighting the ability of young Malaysians to excel through innovation and academic achievement.
“This achievement is not only a source of pride, but also proves that our younger generation possesses creative and high-impact ideas that are capable of being recognised at the international level,” he said in a statement.
The students were identified as Ilaneyan Yuvarajan and M. Theerchanna from Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Tamil (SJKT) KO Sarangapany, along with Ilanarun Yuvarajan and M. Elamaaran from Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Sultan Badlishah.
Ramanan, who is also Member of Parliament for Sungai Buloh, expressed appreciation to the students’ parents for their commitment and support, noting that they had travelled to Bangkok to provide encouragement.
He said such sacrifices form the backbone of students’ success, underscoring that achievements are often the result of strong collective support rather than individual effort alone.
The PKR vice-president also paid tribute to the teachers who guided the students to success on the international stage, and shared a personal moment when the students requested his autograph as a keepsake.
“Although unexpected, I accepted it as a great honour. I took the opportunity to share words of encouragement, urging them to continue progressing far in their bright future journey,” he said.
Ramanan expressed hope that the achievement would inspire more Malaysian youth to pursue innovation and strive for excellence globally, further strengthening the country’s position as a competitive and forward-looking nation. - March 22, 2026
