Malaysia’s Foreign Ministry advises citizens to postpone non-essential travel to Iran and urges those in the country to stay vigilant amid security concerns.

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysians are advised to defer all non-essential travel to Iran for the time being. The Foreign Ministry issued the advisory citing the precarious security situation in the country and its surroundings.

It also advised Malaysians currently in Iran to consider making appropriate travel arrangements through available commercial means. Those who decide to remain are urged to stay vigilant and avoid large public gatherings.

Citizens must adhere to instructions issued by local authorities. For consular assistance, Malaysians may contact the ministry’s Consular Division during office hours.
