
Two persons, including a-13-years-old teenager, drowned in Yamuna River near Patthargarh village in Sanoli area of the district on Friday, while they jumped into the river to save the life of three people.
The deceased have been identified as 13-year-old Avesh and 30-year-old Jabir of Nawada Par village of the district.
As per the available information, Avesh, along with his two friends, went for bathing in the Yamuna on Friday. During bathing, the three children suddenly slipped to dip water and sounded for help.
Following the cry, Jabir, who was the uncle of Avesh, also jumped into the river and brought out two children from the river and after that again entered the deep water to save his nephew Avesh. But both got stuck in deep water due to the fast flow of the water.
Meanwhile, the people working in the fields and local divers gathered there and launched a search operation. The villagers fished out the dead bodies of Avesh and Jabir from the Yamuna.
Following the information, the police also reached the spot and sent the dead bodies of the deceased to the mortuary at the Civil Hospital for postmortem examination.
SI Ajay Kumar, SHO, Sanoli, said that two persons – Jabir and Avesh of Nawada Par drowned in the Yamuna on Friday. Dead bodies of both have been sent to the mortuary for post-mortem examination.
