- Graham Brougham, 74, from Northwich, Cheshire, has admitted to raping a woman who was drugged by her husband over a period of more than 20 years.
- Brougham changed his plea to guilty at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court in front of the victim, who observed the courtroom proceedings from the public gallery.
- Judge Maurice Greene renewed Brougham's bail until a sentencing date is set, but warned the defendant to expect a long custodial sentence.
- The victim's husband previously pleaded guilty to multiple sexual offences, including rape and administering a substance with intent, whilst co-defendant Sean Peers recently admitted assault by penetration.
- A trial for the remaining 10 co-defendants, who all deny various allegations of sexual offending against the same woman, is expected to open on 2 November.
