
- Joshua Kerry, 28, has appeared in court accused of preparing acts of terrorism, including a plot targeting Reform UK leader Nigel Farage.
- The defendant is accused of conducting online reconnaissance on prominent figures and attempting to break into Mr Farage's home in April last year.
- Prosecutors told the court that Mr Farage's partner discovered a damaged door frame and lighter fluid on the porch after the alleged break-in attempt.
- Kerry is also charged with the murder of 78-year-old former prisons minister Ann Widdecombe, who was killed at her Devon home on 8 July.
- Chief Magistrate Paul Goldspring remanded Kerry in custody to appear at the Old Bailey following an investigation by Counter Terrorism Policing.
