Gua Musang police arrest a 49-year-old man and seize 2,000 yaba pills worth RM30,000 after a vehicle pursuit.
GUA MUSANG: Police arrested a local man and seized about 2,000 pills believed to be yaba, weighing 200 grams, valued at RM30,000, during checks at Kilometre 18, Jalan Gua Musang-Kuala Lipis yesterday.
Gua Musang police chief Supt Sik Choon Foo said the 49-year-old suspect was arrested at about 6 pm after trying to flee when his Toyota Vios was stopped for checks by a Mobile Patrol Vehicle (MPV) unit from the Gua Musang District Police Headquarters.
He said police pursued and detained the suspect before a search of the vehicle led to the discovery of the suspected yaba pills.
“A preliminary urine screening test found the suspect positive for methamphetamine,” he said in a statement today.
Sik said police also seized the car, a car key, and two mobile phones to assist in the investigation.
The case is being investigated under Section 39B and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952. Further investigations are ongoing.
