The actions of a man who uploaded content containing death threats against the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah ended up causing trouble for himself when he was arrested by the police.

According to MStar, the man, who is in his 30s, has uploaded the content on Instagram along with His Majesty's photo. Screenshots of the content mixed with death threats have been spread on social media and following that, many netizens urged the authorities to take appropriate action against the owner of the account involved.

Since yesterday, a screenshot of a statement by a man named William Khor (Williamkhor87) has gone viral asking the people to rise up and protest against the royal institution.

William is alleged to have done so because he was not satisfied, but it is not clear whose side the man involved was on.

The statement that William uploaded, however, is clearly a big mistake because he is making death threats against the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al Mustafa Billal Shah.

It is understood that the suspect was arrested by the police in Kajang last night. Meanwhile, the Selangor Police Chief will issue a statement after completing the remand process against the man.

The man's negative outburst backfired when he was apprehended by authorities for uploading content containing threats to kill the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah.

Yesterday, Inspector General of Police Tan Sri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani issued a warning to the general public urging them not to publish or upload any material that would endanger security on social media.

In light of this, PDRM has discovered that after the GE15 results on Sunday, some delicate content that deals with racial sensitivities was posted on a number of social media platforms.

"PDRM issues a warning and reassurance to all social media users not to abuse the platform to disseminate inflammatory content that might offend the public."

Any party that attempts to create a situation that threatens public safety and order would face strict punishment under the Communications and Multimedia Commission Act 1998, the Sedition Act, and the Penal Code, he warned.
