
AUTHORITIES in Jempol, Negeri Sembilan have arrested an unemployed man in Bahau in connection with the theft of women’s underwear from homes in the area.
Jempol police chief, Assistant Superintendent Norhisham Mustapar, stated that the 39-year-old suspect was apprehended at his residence in Taman Mahsan at 4.30pm on Thursday.
The suspect, who reportedly has two previous criminal convictions related to drugs, was found in possession of a motorcycle and a piece of women’s underwear believed to have been stolen earlier.
“Police also seized a motorcycle and a piece of women's underwear believed to have been stolen by the suspect earlier,” Norhisham said.
The suspect was subsequently taken to the Kuala Pilah Magistrate's Court to secure a remand order, and the case is currently being investigated under Section 447 of the Penal Code, which pertains to criminal trespass.
Earlier reports indicated that the suspect had climbed over a fence to access a property and steal the clothing. A police report was filed by the homeowner following the incident.
