
Kota Kinabalu: A 48-year-old man, who was charged with three counts of trafficking drugs, was on Friday charged with another four counts of drug-related offences.
Yii Hock Kiong, who was brought before High Court Judicial Commissioner Amelati Parnell, pleaded not guilty to committing the offence on Feb 22, 2020.
Yi was accused of having 41.79gm of Ketamine at 9.25am on Feb 22, 2020 on the ground floor of the Lido Four Season Residences, Jalan Lintas Kepayan.
He also allegedly had 0.1gm of Nimetazepam, 7.91gm of Amphetamine and 189.5gm of Nitrazepam at 9.51am on the same day at unit number No. C-12-05, Level 12, of the same residence.
He pleaded not guilty to all the charges.
The charges of having Ketamine, Nimetazepam and Amphetamine are framed under Section 12(2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, while having Nitrazepam is under Section 30(3) of the Poison Act 1952.
Yii had on March 8 this year claimed trial for three counts of drug trafficking.
Yii allegedly trafficked 69.43gm of syabu at 9.25am on Feb 22, 2020 at the parking lot in the basement of the Lido Four Seasons Residence, here.
He was also accused of trafficking 2,280.06gm of Ketamine and 943.39gm of syabu, respectively at 9.51am in a unit at block C, level 12 of the same condominium, Jalan Lintas, Kepayan.
Each charge was framed under Section 39B(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, which carries a punishment of either the death penalty or life in prison and whipping with a minimum of 15 strokes.
The prosecution applied for a pre-trial case management date.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Mohammed Ali Imran prosecuted while Yii was represented by counsel Amli Nohin.
